We help businesses launch projects of all shapes and sizes, in the heart of Prince William County, Virginia.

The Prince William County Industrial Development Authority promotes industry and develops trade through its authority to acquire, own, lease, and dispose of properties, make loans to targeted industries, and through cooperation with community partners to promote the health and welfare of the citizens of Prince William County Virginia and affiliated cities and towns.

The Industrial Development Authority of the County of Prince William was created by the Prince William Board of County Supervisors in 1973 as allowed under Virginia Code Section 15.2-4900, known as The Industrial Development and Revenue Bond Act. The IDA is wholly independent, is self-sustaining through administrative fees collected from bond issues and receives no County funding.

The primary activity of the IDA is to issue tax-exempt revenue bonds as well as to serve as a conduit for investments made in our community by our Supervisors in the form of Economic Development Opportunity Fund Grants (EDOF).  The goals of these services are to attract new business to Prince William County and to help our existing businesses expand and thrive.

Prince William County Industrial Development Authority (IDA) bonds support manufacturing, industrial, governmental, nonprofit and commercial enterprises and certain educational institutions as allowed by the Industrial Development and Revenue Bond Act

The Industrial Development Authority is part of the County’s approach to economic development as practiced by the Prince William Board of County Supervisors. Working with our partners in the Prince William County Department of Economic Development, the IDA supports our existing and prospective business community.
